Where are we?
Throw a towel over your shoulder and wander to one of the many beaches within an easy walk.
Walking options are the best of both worlds, with stunning beaches and native bush reserves, starting right outside the door.
Choose from the little beach at the bottom of the garden, and see the local fishing and pleasure boats passing by. Watch the tide ebb and flow in the Whitianga estuary.
Five minutes further to the stunning smooth white sand beaches of Front Beach and Flaxmill Bay. Then venture up Shakespeare’s Cliff, and over to the exclusive Lonely Bay beach, with Cooks Beach beyond. Stop and refuel along the way at Eggcentric Cafe, Cooks Landing Cafe or Mercury Bay Winery.
Mooring Lane Lodge is surrounded by nature at the waters edge.
The lodge is nestled in a sunny clearing between the harbour entry and the Whitianga Rock-Scenic and Historic reserve.
You will arrive along a tree lined lane, beside the shelly beach at Ferry Landing Wharf, overlooking the local fishing boats at rest on their moorings.
Arrive, relax, leave the car, if you want. Have fun, catch the ferry to town or make use of the complimentary lodge bicycles, kayaks.
Tour boats will pick you up at the Ferry Landing wharf, and you can even catch a shuttle to Hot Water Beach, and Cathedral Cove (10-15 minutes’ drive by car).
